Board of Directors
The Little Angels Child Care Center Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the management of the Center. The Board hires the Director of the Center and sets policies. Board meetings are generally held the third Wednesday of each month.
The Board is made up of parents, Avon employees and professional people from the community.
Typically committees of the Board are chaired by a Board member, appointed by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors. In some cases, depending on the committee, non-Board members may Chair a committee.

- Director’s Advisory
The Director’s Advisory Committee provides ongoing communication between the Board and the Director of Little Angels Child Care Center regarding questions on either the Center’s program or the participation of a particular child in the program. The mission is to assist the Director on questions of policy or program.
The Executive Committee is empowered to make recommendations to the Board and to make decisions on matters specifically delegated to it by the Board.
The Finance Committee oversees the finances for the Center and is chaired by the Treasurer of the Board.
The Fundraising Committee seeks to raise revenues for the Center to offset fee increases and for the purchase of items needed by the Center for operation.
Parents are encouraged to participate in fundraising efforts and to join the Fundraising Committee.
The Nominating Committee prepares lists of candidates, reviews qualifications and makes recommendations whenever a vacancy exists on the Board.
The Personnel Committee recommends to the Board candidates for the position of Director of the Little Angels Child Care Center whenever that position becomes vacant. The committee also advises the Board on personnel standards, policies and practices.
Little Angels Child Care Center carries liability insurance for the children involved in Center activities. The Center also carries Workers’ Compensation benefits for employees and liability insurance for the Board of Directors.
Information is only given out about children enrolled at the Center with parental consent. Each child’s records are kept in confidential files. Forms that parents fill out each year and copies of evaluations or recommendations are kept in the files. Parents may request copies of anything in the file, at no cost, or attach their comments, at any time.
Access to Records
Information is released from the child’s file only upon written request from the parent and a record is kept of each release.
