Founded January 29, 1990, Little Angels Child Care Center was the first on-site corporate child care center in Westchester County. The Center began through the efforts of Avon employees who sought a need for on-site child care.
Avon Products, Inc. contributed the space as well as the startup funding needed to open a child care center.
The Center started with 6 children and has expanded over the years to its’ current capacity of 55 children. The Center currently provides services to Avon employees and families in the surrounding community. Carolyn Decker, the Center’s Director has been with Little Angels since its inception and has been the Director since July of 1994 after serving as Assistant Director.
Little Angels achieved Accreditation from the National Association of the Education of Young Children in 1997 after undergoing a comprehensive process, which included an internal self-study and an external professional review to verify compliance with the criteria for high-quality early childhood programs. Programs maintain accreditation by going through the validation process every five years.
Currently Little Angels is working towards reaccreditation and continues to adhere to standards and guidelines put forth by the NAEYC.
